I am a writer, director, illustrator, and animator.
A few years ago I had difficulty finding funding for a film, so I taught myself to animate and made the eight minute short Dot. I used Dot as a demonstration piece to secure a grant for a second film as writer/director/animator, The Cyclops Diet, which played at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Amarcort Film Festival. My third animated film, Self-Actualization of the Werewolf Woman, played at FrightFest, Fantastic Fest, CineFantasy, A Night of Horror, Blood in the Snow, Morbido, Wench, and many others. My latest film The Noonday Demon is currently playing festivals.
My live action films as writer/director include Flesh Freaks (‘An impressive little film that defies its minuscule budget’ - Rue Morgue); Kill Them and Eat Them (‘An experience not to be missed’ - The Baltimore Sun); and Legend of the Seven Bloody Torturers, which played at over 20 film festivals worldwide including the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Toronto After Dark, and the New York Horror Film Festival. Flesh Freaks and Kill Them and Eat Them have been released on BluRay twice: once by Gold Ninja Video, and again by Saturn’s Core / OCN / Vinegar Syndrome. The disc is available at VinegarSyndrome.com.
I’ve had the honour and thrill of acting in the films Massacre at Femur Creek and Daughters of Dunwich.
My feature screenplay Dog placed in the BlueCat finals and the ScreenCraft Fellowship quarterfinals; Deserter in the BlueCat semifinals and the Big Break quarterfinals; and Sapien in the Big Break quarterfinals and the Stage 32 Blood List Top 10.
I have created animated content for numerous corporate clients and edited television series, documentaries, dramatic shorts, and the dramatic feature The Basement. I designed and illustrated the educational comic book Pipe Dreams, which won the National Canadian Public Relations Society’s Gold Award for Print Projects.
